I really dislike the rating system that deviantart uses for critiques, so since this was just practice I'm giving everything 3 stars.

It's a good start. It's a good thing that you made the head more of an oval shape, since beginners tend to make the head more circular. However, it may be easier to start with a circular shape for the skull, and then draw in the jaw area. The head you drew feels just a little bit too long.

As for facial proportions, the placement of the eyes seems just about right. On a real human face, the eyes are actually in the center of the head. They only appear higher up on the face because of the hair. So it's good that you got that right, pretty much.

I guess I should also mention that the nose is about halfway to the chin from below the eyes, and then the mouth is about halfway to the chin from below the nose. This is kind of hard to explain, so I'll do a sketch in dA muro for you after I type this. Also, you seemed to have trouble placing the ears, so I'll just note that the ears tend to be in line with the cheekbones, somewhere between the nose and the eyes.

Now, here's the part of the critique where I kind of nitpick haha. These are some little details that could make the drawing even better. I think it would look a bit better if the mouth was less of a symbol. I also feel like the hairline with the green sketch of the hair is far too low as well, but I can't really tell what the hair is in the sketch. Also, one shoulder is a little bit higher than the other.

Overall, it's a great start for drawing humans. You certainly didn't make many of the mistakes that a lot of other people who first start drawing humans make haha. It's really just a matter of getting the proportions right when you're starting out.
